Our Story

School History

Bethel Kiddies Nursery and Primary School; and Bethel Comprehensive College were founded in 1994 by Revd Prof Emmanuel Oyemomi and Revd Mrs Abosede Oyemomi as a missionary educational initiative committed to raising children with sound academic, moral, and spiritual values.

The school began within the premises of Elshaddai Baptist Church, Egbeda, Lagos, following Mrs Oyemomi’s decision to leave her nursing appointment with the Federal Ministry of Education in order to fully support pastoral and community work alongside her husband.

In 1999, the school relocated to Ijoko in response to the growing need for quality education and community support within the area. What started as a daycare initiative gradually expanded into a primary school and, by 2008, evolved into a secondary school.

Today, by the grace of God, Bethel Schools has continued to prepare students for WAEC and NECO examinations and remains committed to shaping lives despite significant challenges.

As a trained teacher, I am a diehard teacher, and I am committed to raising children and adult for quality education. This was against the background that I grew up in the environment where opportunity for education is not common, hence I become committed to provide such rear opportunity for wholistic growth. Hence, what I thought of doing when I am close to retirement, started way back in the early part of my ministry as a result of my wife, who got the nudge to resign her Federal Government appointment to join me in the ministry. Today, our testimony is “To God be the Glory,” Great things He has done.
